THOMAS L. FRENCH, JR.

Landscape Architect, RLA

With over fifty years of professional experience, Mr. French has acquired a vast amount of knowledge in the fields of landscape architecture, civil engineering, surveying, historic preservation, and urban planning. Since establishing the firm of Thomas L. French, Jr. and Associates in 1960, Mr. French has designed numerous commercial, institutional, and residential facilities. Major projects to date include Driftwood Development and Marina, Harris County, Georgia; Silver Run Planned Unit Development, Phenix City, Alabama; Cullman, Alabama Industrial Park Master Plan; Fort Gilmer (Civil War) Restoration Plan, Phenix City, Alabama; Rock Island Residential Development Plan, Phenix City, Alabama; Buena Vista Georgia Cemetery Master Plan; and numerous private gardens in Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi.

As an instructor for the Columbus College Community Planning Program, Mr. French has taught courses on site planning and land development theory, theories of site analysis and development, trends in facilities development, design and construction of park and recreation facilities, and land-use planning.
